UPDATE: Secret Service Fires at Lone Gunman Near Mar-a-Lago
Breaking news out of Florida—Secret Service agents fired at a lone gunman near Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, according to reports seen on Charlie Kirk’s X (formerly Twitter). Trump, who was rushed to safety, is confirmed to be unharmed after gunshots were heard in the vicinity of Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach.
The incident, which occurred around 2 p.m. local time, saw a swift response from law enforcement, including more than 20 police cars and unmarked SUVs that blocked off a grey Mercedes in front of the golf course. Secret Service acted quickly, neutralizing the threat and ensuring Trump’s safety.
This comes just two months after an assassination attempt was made on Trump during a rally in Pennsylvania, adding even more urgency to the protection of the Republican presidential nominee.
Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office is expected to hold a briefing shortly, but as of now, all reports confirm that Trump is safe following the incident.
